What is the difference between CP and EP meal plans?

CP, EP, MAP, AP you might have noticed these words when booking a hotel or scrolling through any hotel’s brochure or website. Here are the details;

1. Continental Plan (CP) means breakfast is included along with the room.

2. European Plan (EP) is room only, with no meals.

3. Modified American Plan (MAP) usually includes room, breakfast & supper (or dinner, depending on which side of the pond you are on).

4. American Plan or AP means that apart from room rent, quoted hotel tariff includes all 3 meals, i.e., Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. The American Plan is also referred to as Full Pension or Full Board Plan in Europe and some other countries. This plan is good for tourists visiting remote places where the availability of food outside/nearby or hygiene could be an issue.
